Beze is a New Zealand-based pay on-demand platform operated by Beze Limited. We are a registered Financial Service Provider. Beze enables employees to access a portion of their already-earned wages before payday. Our service is not a loan, credit facility, or buy-now-pay-later product.

2. Information we collect
Information you provide
When you register for and use Beze, we may collect the following information directly from you:
- Name and contact details (email address, phone number, residential address)
- Identity verification documents (such as a New Zealand driver licence or passport)
- Bank account details for receiving advances and processing repayments
- Employment information (employer name, role, start date)
Information from your employer’s payroll
With your consent and through your employer’s connected payroll system, we collect:
- Earnings data, including gross and net pay
- Hours worked and applicable pay rates
- Pay cycle dates and schedules
Information collected automatically
When you use the Beze app or website, we automatically collect:
- Device information (device type, operating system, unique device identifiers)
- Usage data (features accessed, pages viewed, actions taken within the app)
- IP addresses and approximate location
- Browser type and version
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide the pay on-demand service, including calculating your available earnings and processing advances
- To calculate available earnings based on hours worked and pay rates provided by your employer’s payroll system
- To process advances and payouts to your nominated bank account
- To verify your identity as required by New Zealand law
- To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, including Anti-Money Laundering requirements
- To improve, maintain, and develop our service and user experience
- To communicate with you about your account, transactions, and service updates
4. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We will never sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties for marketing purposes.
We may share your information with the following parties where necessary to provide our service:
- Your employer, only aggregate reconciliation data required for payroll processing. We never share individual advance details, amounts, or frequency with your employer.
- Identity verification providers, to confirm your identity when you register for the service
- Payment processing partners, to facilitate the transfer of funds to and from your bank account
- Cloud infrastructure providers, who host and maintain the systems on which the Beze platform operates
- As required by law, where we are obligated to disclose information to regulatory bodies, law enforcement, or courts
5. Where your information is stored
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. We take the security of your information seriously and apply industry best practices to protect it.
All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We use bank-grade encryption standards (AES-256 for data at rest, TLS 1.2+ for data in transit) to ensure your personal and financial information remains protected at all times.
6. Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have a number of rights in relation to the personal information we hold about you. These include the right to:
- Access your personal information that we hold and request a copy of it
- Request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention requirements
- Withdraw consent for data processing where consent is the basis for processing

7. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our service and comply with our legal obligations. When you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information unless we are required to retain it.
Transaction records are retained for 7 years as required by New Zealand law, including the Tax Administration Act 1994 and the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009.
8. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These measures include:
- Encryption at rest and in transit for all personal and financial data
- Strict access controls ensuring only authorised personnel can access your information
- Comprehensive audit logging of all access to sensitive data
- Regular security reviews, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes via email or through the Beze app before they take effect.
